Dearest Bill, thanks so much for the time you were home on leave from the navy in Norfolk, and tended to my cut hand, you bandaged it, gave me a quater, put your navy hat on my head and took my picture, to this day your kindness has been in memory and heart and I still have the photo with the "real smile". I cherish the memory and you........
My husband Jim and I were just recalling the times Bill would bring us to his place in Marston Mills when we were teenagers, my Dad would not have Jim and I 15 and 16 going to the Cape together and of course Bill agreed, and Bill and I would back out the Dad's driveway in Milford and as we smiled and waved good bye, Jim would be waiting on the first street corner to jump in the van with us and continue on our trip to the Cape. We still think you are so cool Bill...love you much

Bill, I have to say, that this year our "muched loved Ryder reunions" , have been put on HOLD because we lost to sweet boys on our family. Not to say we won't have a reunion in the future. But I think the "Theme Reunion of Cousin of the Year" 2006 was the very best of all! Except for maybe the 1st Ryder reunion in honor of Uncle Buddy?? He had such a great time that day, and was so happy!! We will get back to reunions sometime soon, but we skipped this year because our HEARTS ACHE for THE LOSS OF YOU AND MATTHEW...HUG HIM FOR ME !! LOVE YOU...

Back in 1978-79 My Mom Gudny was in the late stages of MS. Bill was going to Johnson & Wales at the time and shared an apt in Cranston with a classmate. Well I was trying to get my Mom from her wheelchair to the car and she was real weak that day and we had a tough time. We went to the MD, but by the time we got back she was so weak I couldn't get her out of the car. I called Billy and prayed that he would be home and he was and he came right over, scooped her up in his arms and in the house with her he went. She loved him and said " Oh Billy I feel so safe in your arms", he had brought a six pack of beer and let her drink beer thru a straw,(she couldn't hold a glass to well anymore) she was getting drunk and laughing, and he kept telling her things to make her laugh, she had fun with him that afternoon! But had a big head later after a nap. I bet he is still making her laugh too!!!
